Houston has one of the top 10 largest Asian American populations in the U.S., but it wasn’t always that way.
The first recorded Asian immigrants arrived over 150 years ago, and since then, the population has only increased: in number, in diversity and in impact. In the past 50 years, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have gone from 1 percent of the Houston area’s population to over 26 percent.
