Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston apparently likes a joke, even a bad one, if it’s ridiculing Asian-Americans.

Earlier this week, Thurston shared a video on his personal Facebook page of a man laughing uncontrollably after he called two Chinese restaurants and held the cell phones facing each other so the workers would think each of them had called the other one to place an order. Naturally, the two workers were confused, and naturally they had strong Asian accents.

I wonder if Thurston, a white Republican whose base probably doesn’t rely on the Asian-American vote, would have thought a video of two white Southern restaurant owners encountering similar confusion was hysterical.

Just in case he deletes the video or changes his page’s privacy settings, here’s a screen shot.
