Tigers Welcome No. 8 Tulsa Friday Night - Memphis Official Athletic Site

asianpostmedia.blogspot.com
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers host No. 8 Tulsa Friday at 7 p.m. at the Billy J. Murphy Track and Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn., in the second American Athletic Conference match for both squads.

Friday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+, and live stats are also available.

"Tulsa comes in on Friday already having one conference win and a ton of confidence with their record up to this point," Memphis head coach Richard Mulrooney said. "To get a result out of this match, we need to make sure we don't have a slow start and play with the intensity we had for the second half against UCF."

Memphis (1-5-1, 0-1-0 AAC) fell behind early last Saturday against UCF but battled back to within one after a goal at the start of the second half.

"While the scoreline didn't show it I felt as though the UCF game was much closer, but against Tulsa we need to limit our mistakes and capitalize on the chances we create."

The Golden Hurricane (6-0-0, 1-0-0 AAC) are ranked No. 8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News polls and No. 5 in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings. Tulsa topped USF in its AAC opener, 5-2, and also has wins over No. 8 Missouri State and No. 9 Marquette to its credit this season.

After Friday's match the Tigers hit the road for the next two contests, playing at Temple Wednesday and at UCF next Sunday, Oct. 3.
