Philadelphia Flyers forward Kevin Hayes is out six to eight weeks after having abdominal surgery, the team announced Tuesday. The timeline would mean Hayes could miss anywhere from seven to 15 games.
Hayes is entering his third full season with the Flyers, after posting 12 goals and 19 assists in 55 games last season. He had 23 goals and 18 assists in 2019-20, which marked his fifth consecutive campaign with at least 40 points.
Hayes, 29, spent the first four-plus seasons of his career with the Rangers. He joined the Flyers via trade from Winnipeg in June 2019.
The team also announced that defenseman Samuel Morin will be sidelined six to eight weeks after knee surgery earlier this month and that forward Wade Allison is out indefinitely with a sprained right ankle.
