An obituary on Tuesday about the actor Michael K. Williams described incorrectly Vanderveer Estates in Brooklyn, N.Y., now called Flatbush Gardens, where Michael Williams’s family lived. It was a privately owned housing complex, not public housing.

An article on Friday about New York colleges that require vaccinations misstated the mask policies at Vassar College and St. John’s University. Vassar issued an indoor mask mandate in August that applies to everyone with exceptions for private settings, and masks are required at St. John's inside campus buildings, regardless of vaccination status. It is not the case that fully vaccinated students and staff may go unmasked in the schools’ indoor facilities.

An article on Sunday about an oil spill off Louisiana’s coast misstated when two boats appeared to join the cleanup effort. It was by Saturday morning, not late Saturday.

An article on Saturday about the squalid conditions at a warehouse in Louisiana that housed evacuees from nursing homes during Hurricane Ida misstated the middle initial of the businessman who owns the nursing homes. He is Bob G. Dean Jr., not Bob J. Dean Jr.

An article on Friday about concessions made by Apple to developers in regards to the App Store misstated the name of the entity that prompted Apple’s policy change for some companies. It is the Japan Fair Trade Commission, not the Japanese Fair Trade Commission.

A crossword puzzle on Friday provided an erroneous clue for 37-Down, seeking the answer “Hellcat.” The clue should have read “W.W. II fighter plane that flew off an aircraft carrier,” not “W.W. II aircraft carrier.”

A crossword puzzle on Monday provided an erroneous clue for 17-Across, seeking the answer for “Chloe Zhao.” The clue should have read “Chinese national who became only the second woman to win the Oscar for Best Director,” not “Asian American who became only the second woman to win the Oscar for Best Director.”

A review last Wednesday of the Japanese restaurant Nakaji, in Manhattan’s Chinatown, misstated the origin of the scallops used in some nigiri. They are from Hokkaido, not Hokkaido Bay.

A brief report in the Front Burner column last Wednesday about the World’s Your Oyster Company, using information provided by its founder, misidentified an oyster farmer. She is Laura Brown of Fox Point Oysters in Little Bay, N.H., not Alicia Gaiero of Nauti Sisters Sea Farm in Yarmouth, Maine.

An obituary on Friday about the biochemist Edmond H. Fischer misstated the year Edwin G. Krebs, with whom he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, died. It was 2009, not 2006.

An obituary on Friday about the Greek composer and political activist Mikis Theodorakis misstated when he began an international campaign of concerts and contacts with world leaders that helped topple Greece’s military government. It was 1970, not 1968. Because of an editing error, the obituary also referred incorrectly to the actress Melina Mercouri. She became Greece’s minister of culture in 1981, seven years after the military junta that ruled the country was ousted — not while the junta was in power.

Errors are corrected during the press run whenever possible, so some errors noted here may not have appeared in all editions.
