8 Shot, 4 Fatally, During Argument Inside Home in Chicago's Englewood Neighborhood
There was an "argument at a gathering" inside a residence and shots were fired, according to police.
Eight people were shot, four fatally, during an argument inside a home in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood early Tuesday, authorities say.
Chicago police said they responded to a call of multiple people shot after 5:30 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Morgan Street. There was an "argument at a gathering" inside a residence and shots were fired, according to police.
Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chicago police. Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said during a press conference Tuesday that three of the deceased were women and one was a man.

Four other victims -- three men and one woman -- were wounded in the shooting and being treated at area hospitals, Brown said. A 2-year-old child inside the home was not injured, Brown said, but was taken to an area hospital for observation after the shooting.
A drum magazine and several casings were found in the home, Brown said. There was no apparent forced entry into the residence, he said.
A 41-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were both shot in the back of the head, according to police, who said they were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and their conditions were unknown.
A woman whose age was also not known sustained unspecified gunshot wounds and taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, officials said.
Police said a 23-year-old man was shot in the back and took himself to St. Bernard Hospital but was later transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.
Police blocked off Morgan Street north of 63rd Street as authorities remain on the scene and continue to investigate.
Brown noted police have responded to past calls for disturbances at the home in the past and said the block is overall "fairly quiet."
