The United States no longer has a president who blames Covid-19 on the Chinese, yet Asians are still being targeted. From casual racist remarks to the recent shooting spree in the US state of Georgia, anti-Asian attacks tripled in the past year. It's not only in America, nor only about the pandemic.

Here in France, there have been several waves of protest in the past five years. A new generation is speaking up, whereas in the past, first generation immigrants tended to stay silent. We see how and ask about the growing clout of Asians who don't fall under the banner of one monolithic bloc.

The rest of the world knows it. From the emergence of Japanese mangas and K-pop to the growth of Mandarin as a foreign language taught in school, how to measure the growing embrace of Eastern culture against intolerance of the ugliest kind?
