Ole Miss tops Florida 8-2 to even series - Red Cup Rebellion

asianpostmedia.blogspot.com

Jacob Gonzalez was the hero on Friday night as Ole Miss (21-5, 7-1 SEC) fought out an 8-2 win over Florida (17-9, 4-4 SEC) to even the road series in Gainesville.

Doug Nikhazy was spectacular on the hill, leaving with a 2-1 lead before Drew McDaniel surrendered a solo shot to tie the game. THEN, however, much to the chagrin of the haters and losers, Ole Miss decided to win the ballgame when Jacob “Gone-zo” Gonzalez (blessed be his name) hit a two-run missile over the right field wall that landed in Tallahassee, per sources that I made up. Gonzalez drove home two more runs in the ninth as the Rebels scored six in their final two frames to snag the 8-2 win.

Taylor Broadway also did Taylor Broadway things. Six up, six down. Smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave.

Tomorrow is a pretty important game, imo. It doesn’t really hurt anything if you lose it, though. A series loss on the road to a top-15 team isn’t a big deal. Win it, though, and you’re 8-1 in SEC play which, I’m told, is good, especially with Arkansas and Mississippi State coming up in the next two weeks. Personally, I’m of the opinion Ole Miss should decide to win tomorrow, but idk about y’all. Feel free to debate.

Tomorrow, Derek Diamond will look to make Ole Miss three-for-three in SEC series when the Rebels face the Gators at Noon. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
