Annual plant sale May 8 - Boothbay Register

asianpostmedia.blogspot.com

The Garden Club of Wiscasset will hold its 30th annual plant sale on Saturday, May 8 at the Wiscasset Municipal Building located at the corner of Routes 1 and 27 from 8:30 a.m. until noon. It is an outdoor only sale and per COVID-19 restrictions, facial coverings will be worn.

The plant sale is the major fundraiser supporting both scholarships and beautification projects. The Garden Club of Wiscasset provides scholarships to high school seniors from surrounding towns pursuing a higher education in horticultural or related studies. Club members maintain or help to maintain the Coastal Cancer Treatment Center Serenity Garden in Bath, the Pownalborough Courthouse Garden in Dresden and in Wiscasset, the Nickels- Sortwell House Gardens, that town’s Sunken Garden, Wiscasset Green Elder Care, and gardens at the Public Library.

The sale will feature cement leaf bird baths, a children’s table and a bake sale. Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted.

Club members will be selling shrubs and perennials, including hybrid daylilies and peonies. Plants come from gardens of club members as well as local gardens willing to share plants. If you want to contribute plants garden club members will do the digging. Anyone interested in sharing plants or for more information call Lisa Freeman at 207-720-0801.
