COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 8 cases, 23 recoveries reported for district - The Owensboro Times

A total of 8 more cases of COVID-19 and 23 recoveries were announced Monday for the Green River District. No new cases and 11 recoveries were reported in Daviess County. Two coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Henderson County.

Both deaths are previously unreported COVID-19-related deaths that were found through a state-wide review of death certificates.

  • New cases by county: Henderson (5), McLean (1), Ohio (1), Webster (1)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (11), Hancock (1), Henderson (2), McLean (1), Ohio (8)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 20,331
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 18,290 (90%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 9
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 855 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 342

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 9,674 cases, 8,767 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 345 ever hospitalized, 160 deaths
  • Hancock County – 779 cases, 703 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 23 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,271 cases, 3,761 recovered, 2 current hospitalization, 200 ever hospitalized, 62 deaths
  • McLean County – 826 cases, 760 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 48 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,407 cases, 2,161 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 121 ever hospitalized, 49 deaths
  • Union County – 1,224 cases, 1,124 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 64 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,150 cases, 1,014 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 17 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.6%
  • Female: 53.4%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 81 cases
  • 1-11 — 742 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,808 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,340 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,219 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,179 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,932 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,463 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,514 cases
  • 80+ — 1,053 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
