HOUMA, La. — Police in Louisiana are searching for suspects after a child was shot and killed in Houma.
According to WVUE and WWL, the incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. Monday on Main Street. Houma police said 8-year-old Treyce Bryant, her mother and another person were inside a dark compact car when a light-colored sedan began following them, the news outlets reported. Gunfire then erupted from the sedan, striking and wounding the girl, authorities said.
The victims drove the child to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Houma police said in a Facebook post Tuesday.
