At least one person is dead following a late Saturday afternoon collision between a Cox Communications cable truck and a small sedan on Interstate 8 in El Cajon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. on the eastbound freeway at the Greenfield Drive off-ramp, according to the agency’s traffic incident log. The off-ramp is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
The Cox Communications technician who was driving the truck is okay and was not hospitalized, a spokeswoman for the company said.
