Last Time Out

LSU gave No. 15 Auburn all it could handle in a 1-0 loss at LSU Soccer Stadium on Monday. LSU took Auburn to overtime and even battled the last 27 minutes of the match a player down. Interestingly enough, LSU's two best scoring chances came when they were playing a man down. Tinaya Alexander had a shot from inside the 18 saved in the 82nd minute and just two minutes later Meghan Johnson had a quality chance. Johnson played a nice touch around her defender and took a shot on goal but the charging Auburn goalkeeper closed the gap and deflected the ball out of play. Auburn won the match less than three minutes into overtime with a goal by Kori Locksley in the 93rd minute of play.

Statistical Leaders

Tinaya Alexander and Taylor Dobles are tied for the team lead in points with four apiece. Alexander's four points came via her two goal performance against Alabama on Oct. 23, and Dobles had a three-match point streak during October against Mississippi State (one assist), Missouri (one goal), and Alabama (one assist).

Dobles and junior midfielder Meghan Johnson have two assists apiece. Johnson assisted Dobles' first career goal against Missouri and followed that up with another assist a week later against Alabama setting up Alexander's first goal in that game.

LSU has five goals on the season – Alexander (2), Dobles (1), Molly Thompson (1), and Rammie Noel (1). Thompson has the most goals of any current LSU player with six. Other assists this season have been credited to Maddie Moreau and Lauren Robles, both of which were the first of their careers.

Mollee Swift has started six of seven matches for LSU in goal. She has played 583 minutes and has a goals against average of 1.54. She's made 22 saves thus far.

The Schedule

This will be LSU's third match in the last eight days after playing Vanderbilt last Friday (Oct. 30) and Auburn on Monday (Nov. 2). Following Friday night's match, LSU will open up the 2020 SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Ala., with a game in the first round on Friday (Nov. 13). Final seeding and an opponent will be known after the completion of this weekend's games.

Series History – Texas A&M

The LSU and Texas A&M series dates back to 2009 when LSU earned a 1-1 draw at home. The last nine matches have seen Texas A&M come away with wins.

No. 8 Texas A&M enters the match with a record of 5-1-0 on the season.
