TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Entering its final home competition of the fall season, the Crimson Tide women's soccer team is set to host No. 8 Texas A&M in a 7 p.m. CT matchup on Friday. The match against the Aggies will honor Alabama's eight seniors with a pregame Senior Day ceremony at the Alabama Soccer Complex.

Senior Capsule

  • Alabama's eight seniors; Gabby Duca, Kaylee Hammer, Brynn Martin, Taylor Morgan, Gigi Schorr, Kaley Verpaele, Casey Wertz and team manager Emma Thomson, will be recognized before Friday's match for their contributions throughout their career.
  • The seniors used their experience and leadership to help grow the Alabama Soccer program under the guidance of head coach Wes Hart.
  • The talented group helped lead Alabama to an appearance in the 2017 NCAA tournament and a pair of runs at the SEC tournament in Orange Beach, Ala.
  • They played a vital role in upsetting then-No. 5 Texas A&M in a 1-0 shout out in Tuscaloosa during the 2018 season and have continuously set the standards for future teams.

Last Time Out

  • The Alabama women's soccer team and the LSU Tigers battled through rough rainy conditions to a 3-3 double overtime draw, late last Friday night and into Saturday at the LSU Soccer Complex.
  • The Crimson Tide earned a hard-fought conference point on the road and move to 1-3-2 in the standings.
  • Carly Wyatt got off to a quick start, recording back-to-back goals less than a minute apart, starting
  • in the 19th minute off a pass from Casey Wertz and Reyna Reyes.
  • Nearly seconds later, Wyatt responded with her second goal of the game and season to make it a two-goal match before play was suspended due to lightning in the area.
  • Once play resumed nearly two hours later, momentum shifted to the Tigers, as LSU got on the board before halftime by a goal from Tinaya Alexander in the 25th minute.
  • After the half, Serena Pham picked up the pace with a score during the 57th minute of action, but LSU's Alexander responded within the minute to leave the Tide only up by one, 3-2.
  • The Tigers found the equalizer in the 77th minute from Molly Thompson to keep the score tied the final 13 minutes of regulation.

Scouting Texas A&M

  • The No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies are third in the conference western division standing, supporting a 4-1, 4-1 record.
  • Last week, Texas A&M defeated Tennessee 3-1 in Knoxville to add to its three-match win streak.
  • Aggie head coach G Guerrieri ranks among the leaders in winning percentage and victories among active Division I coaches.
  • Guerrieri boasts a record of 476-149-39 (.746), that ranks fourth in victories and eighth in winning percentage.
  • The rookie class brings a plethora of talent as the Aggies have earned SEC Freshman of the Week three consecutive weeks in a row from Barbara Olivieri Lauren Geczik.

Series with the Aggies

  • Friday's match-up marks the 12th meeting in series history between the Tide and the Texas A&M Aggies.
  • Alabama trails the all-time series 3-7-1, but the Tide has found success in the last two matchups.
  • The last meeting in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 18, 2018, the Tide defeated then-No. 5 Aggies for its first top-five ranked victory in program history.
  • A year ago, Alabama fought the then-No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies, to a 1-1 stalemate after 110 minutes of play at Ellis Field.
  • The conclusion of the 2019 match marked the Tide's third tie against a ranked opponent in program history.

Ranked SEC Record
