An 8-year-old girl was reported missing Monday night, and Brockton police are turning to the public for help as they search for her.
Grace Adorno was last seen at her family’s apartment Monday around 8 p.m. She was reportedly wearing black shorts, a red Bridgewater shirt, and a Winnie the Pooh headband.

“Her family believes she walked out of their residential apartment at 29.5 Ames Street,” Brockton police wrote in a Facebook post. “She’s Black and is five feet tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds.”
A nearby home’s security camera shows footage of Adorno walking westbound on Ames street alone, Brockton’s Acting Police Chief Emanuel Gomes said during a Tuesday press conference.
He added that the department’s entire detective unit is looking for her, state police will be sending a helicopter to search from above, and the FBI is also assisting in the case.
Gomes said Adorno left her house upset after a “verbal dispute” with her mother. At this point, he said he does not suspect foul play.
As time passes though, Gomes said his concern grows.
“We’re trying to deploy all of our assets,” he said. “We’re gonna stay right on it. And obviously time is of the essence.”
