South Korea’s President Heads to Washington to Salvage North’s Nuclear Deal

South Korean President Moon Jae-in will meet next week (Tues. May 22) with U.S. President Donald Trump in preparation for the upcoming U.S. North Korea nuclear summit to be held in Singapore in June. VOA’s Brian Padden in Seoul reports that what was to be routine consultation may now become an emergency mediation session after North Korea recently threatened to cancel the summit.
