As Vietnam Clamps Down, Hanoi Artist Sings Out

She’s talked shop with President Barack Obama and is soon to be the subject of a feature documentary. Mai Khoi, an outspoken musician who has become a thorn in the side of the Vietnamese government, was detained Tuesday after refusing to shut up about human rights amidst a widening crackdown on dissent in the country.
