14 Killed in Lahore Blast

At least 14 people were killed in a blast in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore on Monday, police and rescue officials said.

At least 15 others were injured in the explosion.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known, though Pakistani media outlet Dawn reported that it was caused by a suicide bomb. Reuters cited police sources who believe the bomb was targeting their forces.

The blast occurred around Arfa Kareem Tower — an IT building not far from the office of the state's Chief Minister.

Bomb blasts by militants are relatively common in Pakistan, but the city of Lahore, near the border with India, has seen relatively few attacks recently.
