Rasisme melawan orang Asia menyebar lebih cepat daripada virusnya

Paris (ANTARA) - Di distrik tenggara Paris yang dikenal sebagai tempat tujuan untuk mereka yang menggemari kuliner Asia, bisnis menurun di restoran Vietnam milik Pascal Corlier, efek samping dari ketakutan virus corona asal China yang telah memicu kepanikan, sekaligus memunculkan xenophobia (ketidaksukaan atau ketakutan terhadap orang-orang dari negara lain, atau yang dianggap asing).

Beberapa pelanggan yang gelisah mulai bertanya kepada staf yang bertugas, apakah mereka orang China, menurut Corlier, yang ayah mertuanya dari Vietnam mengelola dapur dan menyajikan hidangan tradisional seperti sup pho. Sementara tamu yang lain berusaha menjauh.

"Ada semacam hambatan psikosis yang tidak berdasar di sekitar komunitas Asia dan makanan Asia," kata pemilik restoran, menambahkan bahwa pendapatannya turun 40% untuk beberapa minggu pertama 2020 dibandingkan dengan periode yang sama tahun lalu.

Wabah virus yang dimulai di kota Wuhan di China tengah telah menginfeksi lebih dari 9.800 orang - kebanyakan di China, tetapi sekitar 130 kasus di 24 negara dan wilayah di luar daratan China, termasuk enam kasus di Prancis. Wabah ini telah menewaskan 213 orang di China dan memicu gelombang pembatasan perjalanan dan upaya lain untuk menghentikan penyebaran, baik di dalam China sendiri maupun di luar negeri.

Insiden rasis, penghinaan dan cercaan telah dilaporkan dari taman bermain sekolah sampai ke supermarket, menurut Laetitia Chhiv, yang menjalankan asosiasi untuk orang-orang muda keturunan China.

"Kami memiliki seorang siswa asal China di Strasbourg yang diteriaki oleh seorang wanita yang mengatakan kepadanya untuk tidak menyentuh alpukat yang ingin ia beli," kata Chhiv. "Itu setelah dia bertanya kepadanya dari mana asalnya dan apakah dia terjangkit virus."

"Saya sedang duduk di metro dalam perjalanan ke tempat kerja dan orang di sebelah saya beringsut menjauh beberapa sentimeter dan menutup mulutnya dengan syal. Saya terkejut."

Corlier, pemilik restoran, yang istrinya berasal dari Vietnam, mengatakan bahkan anak-anaknya merasa stigma dan melihat orang-orang menutupi wajah mereka.

Seorang guru China di sebuah sekolah menengah Paris yang prestisius menulis surat kepada orang tuanya minggu ini untuk menjelaskan bahwa dia tidak pernah bepergian ke China selama bertahun-tahun, menurut email yang dilihat oleh Reuters.

"Orang-orang panik, jadi sulit untuk menahannya," kata Corlier. "Tapi mereka mengambil langkah mundur ... dan melihat begitu faktanya.

Jeff Lewis apologizes for comments about Asian Americans amid coronavirus crisis - Fox News

Jeff Lewis is walking back comments he and his radio guests made on SiriusXM about Asian Americans amid the global coronavirus crisis.

The “Flipping Out” alum, 49, opened Thursday’s episode of his show “Jeff Lewis Live” and issued an apology for remarks he and his guest co-hosts made on the air.

“We love our Asian listeners and we would never want them to feel excluded,” Lewis said, according to People. “We also never meant to spread hate or breed racism with our comments.”

Lewis’ denouncement came after he and fellow home interior designer Megan Weaver, Cheri Oteri, actor Doug Budin, actress Monika Casey and real estate agent Carrie Lewis discussed the trending coronavirus outbreak in China and joked about the steps they would take in order to prevent contracting the illness.

According to People, Lewis and company said they would avoid eating at restaurants such as Panda Express and Chin Chin, refuse calls from Asian listeners, avoid venturing to Asian-dominated communities such as Chinatown and Los Angeles’ famed TCL Chinese Theatre and even "quarantine" Asian American SiriusXM employees.

“Apparently, I did incense a few people. I actually feel bad about it. I was joking around and it went a little too far,” he continued. “I apologize for being such an a--. I want people to have fun when they listen to this show… So I just wanted to apologize. I’m very sorry for crossing the line.”

Lewis said he was not coerced by his employer to apologize.

“No one has told me to apologize yet. This was on my own,” he said. “I felt like I went a little too far.”

“I personally, truly, was kidding -- was joking. Being sarcastic,” Lewis said. “I love all my listeners and I truly do not care about their ethnicity. I don’t care about their religious background. I don’t care about income level. I don’t care about their height. I don’t care if they’re 3 feet tall. I don’t care if they don’t have arms. I don’t care if they’re transitioning. I don’t care if they have special needs. I don’t care. I really don’t care. I just want to connect with people.”

“There used to be three Asian American people working here, but Megan has locked them in the green room because she’s so concerned. She is so concerned, she has quarantined them,” Lewis had quipped of Weaver on Tuesday’s show.

Lewis even said Weaver was unaware of the family ties said employees might have to China, thus: “She has no idea and doesn’t care, she is so afraid of the coronavirus.”

Weaver played along with Lewis, adding that she was “terrified” of the epidemic and would be boycotting Panda Express “until this is all over.”

Then, Budin chimed in: “Megan was nervous like, ‘What if an Asian person calls in to the show? We shouldn’t even take the call.’”

“It’s too dangerous,” Lewis said.

However, on Wednesday’s show, the comments ramped up and Lewis decreed that “we quarantine all Asian SiriusXM employees.”

“This would include Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Filipino, Indonesian, et cetera,” Lewis doubled down. “I’m sure there’s more. That’s all we could think of. We’ll see how that goes.”

Lewis continued in his berating of the Asian population and alleged that while he was a student at the University of Southern California, “[in] my experience, the Asians were the biggest cheaters of all.”

“Now, I cheat too. I cheated, most of my friends cheated, but I’m just telling you what happened,” Lewis ranted. “In those classes, those Asians were the biggest cheaters. And I think cause they got the most pressure from their parents. My dad didn’t give a s---. I didn’t have a lot of pressure. But those kids, I blame the parents. Those kids were under so much pressure.”

Then, out of nowhere, Lewis’ sister-in-law Carrie offered: “I was an English major, so there were no Asians in my class.”

“It’s racist Wednesday, here at 'Jeff Lewis Live,'" Lewis then declared.

The former HGTV star concluded his rant by alleging that the reason for the spread of the deadly coronavirus is due to the substandard dietary habits of Asian people.

“They’re saying the coronavirus, it’s a bat virus that then transmitted to snakes because snakes eat bats. The Chinese eat snakes, they eat all kinds of s--- over there,” he claimed. “That’s probably why we’re in this trouble. Allegedly. They eat bats... mice. And then they wonder why they’re sick!”

As of Friday, there had been more than 9,600 confirmed cases of the coronavirus with more than 200 deaths. Officials said that the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. remains at six, with the latest being an Illinois man whose wife was diagnosed with the virus after traveling to Wuhan, which is considered the epicenter of the outbreak.

Meski Terpapar Virus Corona, Rupiah Terbaik di Asia - Bisnis.com

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - Meski terpapar banyak sentimen negatif dalam beberapa perdagangan terakhir, mata uang Garuda berhasil mempertahankan posisinya menjadi mata uang dengan kinerja terbaik di Asia dalam satu bulan terakhir.

Ekonom Bank Permata Josua Pardede pelemahan rupiah dalam beberapa perdagangan terakhir pelemahan rupiah didorong oleh penyebaran virus corona yang terus memakan korban jiwa.

Berdasarkan data Bloomberg, pada penutupan perdagangan Jumat (31/1/2020) rupiah berada di level Rp13.655 per dolar AS, menguat tipis 0,015% atau 2 poin. Sepanjang pekan ini, rupiah telah terdepresiasi 0,527%.

Sebagai catatan, penyebaran virus corona semakin meluas ke beberapa negara lain selain China. Saat ini, virus corona telah terkonfirmasi memasuki India, salah satu negara dengan penduduk terbanyak di dunia.

Pasar khawatir wabah virus corona tersebut akan berubah menjadi sebuah epidemi seperti yang terjadi pada 2002 dengan penyebaran virus SARS. Selain itu, penyebaran tersebut dikhawatirkan akan melemahkan pertumbuhan ekonomi China, yang pada akhirnya dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan ekonomi global.

Akibatnya, sentimen tersebut menjauhkan investor dari aset berisiko dan berlomba mengumpulkan aset investasi aman seperti emas dan yen.

Kendati demikian, nyatanya rupiah berhasil mempertahankan posisinya untuk tidak terdepresiasi cukup dalam seperti mata uang Asia lainnya. Sepanjang Januari 2020, rupiah berhasil memimpin kinerja penguatan mata uang Asia dengan bergerak naik 1,542%.

Penguatan rupiah berhasil mengalahkan yuan renminbi yang menguat 1,392% dan dolar Hong Kong yang hanya naik 0,304%.

Imbal Hasil Obligasi yang Menarik

Josua mengatakan bahwa pertahanan rupiah dijaga baik karena imbal hasil obligasi Indonesia yang masih dinilai menarik oleh investor. Hal itu pun lah yang membuat rupiah sempat menyentuh level tertinggi sejak Februari 2018.

“Imbal hasil obligasi Indonesia masih baik, apalagi ketika India mendapatkan penurunan rating terhadap obligasinya, sedangkan Indonesia berhasil mempertahankan peringkatnya dengan prospek yang masih cukup baik. Oleh karena itu ada shifting investor dari India berpindah ke Indonesia,” ujar Josua kepada Bisnis, Jumat (31/1/2020).

Sementara itu, Analis PT Monex Investindo Futures Ahmad Yudiawan mengatakan bahwa pelemahan rupiah juga didukung oleh kecenderungan aksi ambil untung oleh investor karena rupiah berhasil menembus ke bawah level Rp13.600 per dolar AS.

“Tetapi secara teknikal rupiah memberikan petunjuk berpotensi untuk melanjutkan penguatannya dalam beberapa perdagangan. Hanya, sentimen negatif datang dari fundamental eksternal, kalau ada sentimen lebih baik seperti perkembangan corona lebih kondusif rupiah pasti akan menguat lebih baik,” ujar Yudi saat dihubungi Bisnis, Jumat (31/1/2020).

Didukung Intervensi Pasar

Direktur PT TRFX Garuda Berjangka Ibrahim mengatakan bahwa terbatasnya pelemahan rupiah didukung oleh Bank Indonesia yang melakukan intervensi di pasar.

“Bank Indonesia hari ini kembali menjadi pahlawan dengan melakukan intervensi di pasar valas dan obligasi di perdagangan DNDF,” ujar Ibrahim seperti dikutip dari keterangan resminya, Jumat (31/1/2020).

Pada perdagangan sepekan ke depan, analis menilai pasar masih akan fokus terhadap perkembangan penyebaran virus corona. World Health Organization atau WHO telah menyatakan penyebaran ini menjadi keadaan darurat global dan akan ikut turun mengatasi penyebaran ini.

Rilis Data Ekonomi AS

Tidak hanya itu, pasar dinilai juga harus mewaspadai beberapa rilis data ekonomi AS pada pekan depan yang dapat menguatkan dolar AS, meskipun pernyataan The Fed untuk mempertahankan suku bunga acuannya hingga akhir tahun dapat melemahkan greenback.

Saat ini, indeks dolar AS yang mengukur kekuatan greenback di hadapan sekeranjang mata uang utama bergerak menguat 0,02% menjadi 97,883.

Sepekan ke depan, Josua memperkirakan rupiah bergerak di kisaran Rp 13.650 per dolar AS hingga Rp13.750 per dolar AS, sedangkan Yudi memproyeksi rupiah berada di level 13.550 per dolar AS hingga Rp13.750 per dolar AS.

Sementara itu, Ibrahim memprediksi pada perdagangan Senin (3/2/2020) rupiah berpotensi menguat tipis di kisaran Rp 13.583 per dolar AS hingga Rp13.690 per dolar AS.

Fakta RI Produksi Kapal Selam, Pertama di Asia Tenggara - Okezone Economy

JAKARTA - Indonesia menjadi negara pertama di Asia Tenggara yang membuat kapal selam. PT PAL membuat kapal selam KRI Alugoro-405.

Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) dan beberapa menteri mendatangi PT PAL di Surabaya untuk melihat kapal selam ini. Mereka senang karena kapal selam sudah selesai dibuat. 

Simak fakta Indonesia sudah memproduksi kapal selam yang dirangkum oleh Okezone pada Sabtu (1/2/2020):

1. Kapal Selam KRI Alugoro-405 Tengah Dalam Uji SAT

Kapal selam buatan PT PAL Indonesia, KRI Alugoro-405 ini melakukan uji Sea Acceptance Test (SAT) sejak pertengahan Januari 2020 di Banyuwangi, Jawa Timur. Demikian dikutip dari Setkab, Senin (27/1/2020).

Kapal selam ini berhasil diproduksi di Indonesia dengan menggandeng Korea Selatan (Korsel). Kapal selam ini merupakan pesanan TNI Angkatan Laut hasil kerja sama antara PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) dengan Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd (DSME) Korea Selatan, dalam skema transfer teknologi.

2. Joko Widodo Berkunjung ke PT PAL untuk Melihat Kapal Selam

Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) melakukan kunjungan kerja ke PT Penataran Angkatan Laut (PAL) di Surabaya, Jawa Timur. Dirinya pun melihat dalamnya kapal selam buatan PT PAL.

Saat tiba di lokasi, Presiden Jokowi mendapat penjelasan terkait kapal selam Alugoro dari Direktur Utama PT PAL Budiman Saleh. Setelah mendapatkan penjelasan, Presiden masuk ke dalam Kapal selam KRI Alugoro-405 yang memiliki kecepatan maksimum 21 knot ketika berada di bawah air dengan kapasitas 40 orang dan mampu menjelajah hingga 50 hari.

3. PT PAL Ditugaskan untuk Menjaga Manajemen di Pabriknya

Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengingatkan PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) untuk menjaga manajemen di pabriknya. Jangan sampai manajemen yang amburadul di masa lalu kembali terjadi.

Saat mengunjungi pabrik kapal selam PT PAL, Jokowi pun bercertia ketika pertama kali dirinya melihat manajemen pabrik BUMN tersebut. Ketika 2015, dirinya melihat banyak mesin-mesin yang berantakan dan tak terurus.

“Saat itu juga langsung saya perintah kepada menteri untuk dibenahi kemudian seingat saya dikucurkan juga setelah itu PMN sebesar Rp1,5 triliun,” ujarnya mengutip dari halaman Setkab, Senin (27/1/2020).

4. Jokowi Ingin Negeri ini juga Menghasilkan Banyak Produk Nonmiliter

Jokowi mengatakan, perubahan dari product driven kepada market driven sangat penting. Apalagi dirinya juga cukup berpengalaman dalam manajemen dan tata kelola perusahaan.

“Ini penting sehingga kita bisa memproduksi bukan hanya untuk kepentingan militer, tetapi juga alat-alat pertahanan, tetapi juga menghasilkan produk untuk menghasilkan produk nonmiliter sampai kepada mendorong agar lebih banyak pesanan, order, dari dalam negeri,” jelasnya.

LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Asian spot prices for liquefied natural gas (LNG) fell this week as the heavily oversupplied market was pressured by concerns over the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on China’s imports.

The average LNG price for March delivery into northeast Asia LNG-AS was estimated at around $3.80 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), down $0.20 per mmBtu from the previous week.

With demand across Asia subdued this winter due to warmer-than-usual weather, concerns are growing that the coronavirus may further taper off gas consumption.

“Any slowdown in Chinese GDP growth as a result of the coronavirus will feed directly into gas consumption and through to LNG imports,” Michael Stoppard, chief strategist for global gas at IHS Markit said.

“This will hurt a global market already in search of demand support.”

China Council for The Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has said it will offer force majeure certificates to companies struggling to cope with the impact of the virus on their business with overseas partners.

“We are more concerned about the Wuhan virus than the spot market right now,” a source in China said earlier this month.

With warm weather keeping storage levels high, a fall in downstream demand would easily lead to a so called tank-top situation at Chinese ports, an LNG analyst said.

As the Lunar New Year holidays in China were extended until the end of this week due to the virus outbreak, market activity was quiet across the whole of Asia, LNG market sources said.

On the supply side, there was a tender from Indonesia’s Donggi-Senoro plant that offered an LNG cargo for loading or delivery in March.

In the Atlantic basin, Angola LNG project is selling a cargo for delivery between the end of February and mid-March.

Russian producer Novatek has sold a cargo for late March in Europe, while Nigeria LNG awarded its tender for two February loading cargoes, industry sources said.

India’s demand is growing due to the low prices, a buyer in India said.

Gail India and Torrent Power awarded their tenders this week at below $4 per mmBtu, he added.

The increase in spot cargo purchases in India has led to a rare premium of Indian prices to those in northeast Asia, Energy Aspects said this week in a report.

Demand also came from Greece where state-owned utility Public Power Corp (PPC) is looking for three cargoes to be delivered between March and May.

Falling LNG prices in Asia were impacting curve contracts on European hubs, a gas trader in Europe said.

The summer price on the Dutch gas hub fell to $3.28 per mmBtu, while the front-month February contract traded around $3.15 per mmBtu on Friday, the lowest level for this period since at least 2005 when Refinitiv started to publish Dutch price data. Pandi Optimistis Domain .id Jadi Nomor Satu di Asia Tenggara - Suara.com

Suara.com - Pengelola Nama Domain Internet Indonesia (Pandi) pada tahun ini optimistis penggunaan nama domain lokal .id akan menjadi yang tertinggi di antara negara-negara lain di Asia Tenggara.

"Tahun lalu sudah melampaui Malaysia. Jadi, satu-satunya negara di Asia Tenggara yang lebih banyak nama domainnya di banding kita adalah Vietnam. Tahun ini target di atas Vietnam, apalagi jumlah penduduk kita lebih tinggi," ujar ketua Pandi, Yudho Giri Sucahyo di Jakarta, Jumat (31/1/2020).

Yudho menjelaskan jumlah nama domain yang terdaftar di Pandi pada 2019 sebanyak 352.905 atau naik 25 persen dari tahun 2018 yang tercatat sebanyak 281.467.

Angka tersebut membuat Indonesia berada di posisi kedua setelah Vietnam yang memiliki jumlah domain 494.758 dengan peningkatan 7,5 persen dibanding tahun sebelumnya.

Sementara, Malaysia berada di peringkat ketiga dengan jumlah domain 322.992. Selanjutnya, Singapura dan Thailand berada di posisi keempat dan kelima dengan jumlah domain masing-masing 182.115 dan 71.996.

Tahun ini, Pandi menargetkan penggunaan nama domain .id dapat mencapai 472.569 dengan pertumbuhan 35 persen dari tahun sebelumnya.

Sebelumnya Pandi mengatakan akan menggencarkan promosi domain .id di luar negeri. Pandi kini mempunyai situs domain.id yang merupakan marketplace berbahasa Inggris untuk berjualan nama domain .id.

"Kedua, cara lain yang sangat teknis bahwa kita harus mencari siasat bagaimana bekerja sama dengan mitra di luar negeri," kata Heru.

Selain itu, tahun ini Pandi juga akan melakukan sejumlah kerja sama lanjutan dan baru yang akan dimulai terhadap perusahaan, lembaga/instansi, organisasi dan lainnya.

Pandi misalnya bermitra dengan pengelola nama domain Australia (auDA) dan Portugis (DNS.PT) untuk membentuk tim gabungan dalam proyek pengembangan pengelolaan domain .tl (nama domain Timor Leste).

Kerja sama lainnya adalah mendukung kegiatan yang berfokus pada cyber security melalui pendekatan multi-disiplin dalam acara yang diselenggarakan oleh VU University Belanda dan Universitas Indonesia.

Dalam rangka meningkatkan sistem dan keamanan, Pandi menempatkan server registri di data center yang lebih baik untuk mendukung terciptanya sistem dapat berjalan tanpa adanya gangguan sistem, sehingga membuat registran (pengguna) merasa aman.

Untuk dapat bersaing secara sistem dan teknologi, mulai 2020 Pandi sudah menggunakan sistem registri mandiri di mana semua sistem yang dijalankan adalah asli buatan lndonesia.

Pada 2020, Pandi juga berencana meluncurkan PANDI Institute yang merupakan layanan edukasi kepada masyarakat yang dalam pelaksanaannya merupakan hasil kerjasama dengan mitra industri bersama pemerintah. 'I am not a virus': France's Asian community pushes back over xenophobia - Reuters

PARIS (Reuters) - In a southeastern Paris district known as the go-to place for Asian cuisine, business is down at Pascal Corlier’s Vietnamese restaurant, a side-effect of China’s coronavirus health scare that has sparked panic and a rise in xenophobic incidents.

Some nervous customers have begun to ask waiting staff if they are Chinese, according to Corlier, whose Vietnamese father-in-law runs the kitchen and serves up traditional dishes like pho soup. Others are simply staying away.

“There’s a sort of unfounded psychosis setting in around the Asian community and Asian food,” the restaurateur said, adding that his revenues were down 40% for the first few weeks of 2020 compared to the same period a year ago.

The virus outbreak that began in the central Chinese city of Wuhan has infected more than 9,800 people - mostly in China but with some 130 cases in 24 countries and regions outside mainland China, including six cases in France. It has killed 213 people in China and sparked a wave of travel curbs and other efforts to stop the spread, both inside China and abroad.

As well as Chinese nationals, France’s big Asian community includes many people of Cambodian and Laotian descent, and one of the largest contingents of Vietnamese overseas — a legacy of France’s former colonial presence in south-east Asia.

Asians in France this week created a Twitter hashtag #Jenesuispasunvirus (“I am not a virus”) to signal abuse. Racist incidents, slights and slurs have been reported from the school playground to supermarkets, according to Laetitia Chhiv, who runs an association for young people of Chinese descent.

“We had a student of Chinese origin in Strasbourg who was shouted at by a woman who told him not to touch the avocados she wanted to buy,” Chhiv said. “That was after she asked him where he was from and whether he had the virus.”

Worries over the virus are reverberating across Paris in other ways too, with high-end stores that rely on Chinese tour groups hurting as the flow of visitors dries up. At some retailers, staff said French customers were also staying away, partly out of fear of mingling with Asian clients.

“Racism against Asians is spreading even faster than the virus,” said Sun-Lay Tan, who works in the art world and is French-born of Chinese and Cambodian descent.

“I was sitting on the metro on my way to work and the person next to me edged a few centimeters away and put his scarf over his mouth. I was shocked.”

Corlier, the restaurant owner, whose wife is from Vietnam, said even his children had felt stigmatized and saw people covering their faces.

A Chinese teacher at a prestigious Parisian high school wrote to parents this week to explain she had not traveled to China in years, according to an email seen by Reuters.

“People are panicking, so it’s hard to hold it against them,” Corlier said. “But they have to take a step back ... and look at the facts.”

Optimalkan Manfaat SRG Rumput Laut, KBI Jalin Kerja Sama dengan PT Asia Sejahtera Mina - WartaEkonomi.co.id

Sebagai negara dengan wilayah laut luas, potensi ekonomi maritim Indonesia sangat menjanjikan. Untuk rumput laut ekonomis tinggi seperti Eucheuma cottoni, Indonesia diperkirakan memiliki potensi nilai ekonomi hingga mencapai US$10 miliar per tahun. 

Dengan potensi yang ada ini, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) Republik Indonesia pun menargetkan produksi rumput laut nasional tumbuh rata rata 2,92% dalam periode 2020-2024. Sementara, khusus tahun 2020 ditargetkan produksi rumput laut nasional mencapai 10,99 juta ton.

Namun demikian, hal itu tak serta-merta meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan nelayan yang memanfaatkan komoditas ini. Harga yang fluktuatif serta tata niaga yang ada, pada akhirnya, membuat para nelayan kurang mendapatkan manfaat yang maksimal.

Sebagai solusi, pemerintah melalui Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi (Bappebti) terus melakukan sosialisasi tentang pemanfaatan Sistem Resi Gudang (SRG) untuk komoditas rumput laut ini.

Resi Gudang sendiri adalah dokumen surat berharga atas komoditas yang disimpan di gudang yang terdaftar di Pusat Registrasi (Pusreg) Resi Gudang. Untuk saat ini, satu-satunya Pusat Registrasi Resi Gudang adalah di PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (Persero) atau KBI Persero. Perusahaan BUMN pelat merah ini mendapatkan izin dari Bappepti sebagai Pusat Registrasi yang memiliki fungsi pencatatan, penyimpanan, pemindahbukuan kepemilikan, pembebanan hak jaminan, pelaporan, serta penyediaan sistem dan jaringan informasi Resi Gudang dan Derivatif Resi Gudang.

Fajar Wibhiyadi, Direktur Utama PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (Persero) mengatakan, "Kami optimis ke depan pemanfaatan SRG untuk komoditas rumput laut ini akan meningkat meski diakui belum semua nelayan mengetahui manfaat SRG ini. Inilah pekerjaan rumah kami bersama para pemangku kepentingan. Kami yakin ke depan para nelayan akan memanfaatkan SRG ini karena sudah jelas akan memberikan manfaat kepada mereka. Tidak hanya manfaat secara nilai komoditasnya, tapi juga manfaat dari sisi finansialnya."

Data dari PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (Persero) menunjukkan, di tahun 2019 nilai pembiayaan SRG untuk komoditas rumput laut mencapai Rp9,8 miliar. Untuk tahun 2017, SRG rumput laut mencapai Rp2,9 miliar dan Rp11,9 miliar di tahun 2018. Dari sisi jumlah SRG yang diterbitkan, tahun 2017 sejumlah 18 SRG, tahun 2018 sejumlah 25 SRG, dan 2019 mencapai 24 SRG. Diperkirakan di tahun-tahun mendatang pemanfaatan SRG rumput laut ini akan terus tumbuh.

"Dalam upaya mendukung pertumbuhan SRG komoditas rumput laut ini, KBI menjalin kerja sama dengan PT Asia Sejahtera Mina terkait kemitraan strategis tata niaga komoditas rumput laut. Kerja sama ini merupakan langkah strategis yang kami lakukan, tentu dalam upaya untuk mendukung pemerintah dalam meningkatkan pemanfaatan SRG," lanjut Fajar dalam keterangan tertulis di Jakarta, Jumat (31/1/2020).

Tersengat Virus Corona, Bursa Saham Asia Berguguran - CNBC Indonesia

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Mayoritas bursa saham utama kawasan Asia menutup perdagangan terakhir di pekan ini, Jumat (31/1/2020), di zona merah.

Pada penutupan perdagangan, indeks Hang Seng turun 0,52%, indeks Straits Times terkoreksi 0,53%, dan indeks Kospi terpangkas 1,35%.

Sebagai catatan, perdagangan di bursa saham China masih diliburkan seiring dengan libur Tahun Baru China.

Tekanan bagi bursa saham Benua Kuning datang dari rilis angka pertumbuhan ekonomi AS. Kemarin, Kamis (30/1/2020), pembacaan awal atas angka pertumbuhan ekonomi AS periode kuartal IV-2019 diumumkan di level 2,1% (QoQ annualized), sesuai dengan konsensus yang dihimpun oleh Dow Jones.
Untuk keseluruhan tahun 2019, perekonomian AS hanya tumbuh 2,3%, menandai laju pertumbuhan terlemah dalam tiga tahun. Untuk diketahui, pada tahun 2017 perekonomian AS tumbuh sebesar 2,4%, disusul pertumbuhan sebesar 2,9% pada tahun 2018.

Laju pertumbuhan tersebut juga berada di bawah target yang dipatok oleh pemerintahan Presiden AS Donald Trump. Pasca resmi memangkas tingkat pajak korporasi dan individu pada tahun 2017, Gedung Putih memproyeksikan pertumbuhan ekonomi untuk setidaknya berada di level 3%.

Kedepannya, laju perekonomian AS bisa semakin tertekan. Pasalnya, The Federal Reserve (The Fed) selaku bank sentral AS baru saja memutuskan untuk menahan tingkat suku bunga acuan di rentang 1,5%-1,75%.

Di sepanjang tahun 2019, The Fed memangkas tingkat suku bunga acuan sebanyak tiga kali, masing-masing sebesar 25 bps, yakni pada bulan Juli, September, dan Oktober. Jika ditotal, federal funds rate sudah dipangkas sebesar 75 bps oleh Jerome Powell (Gubernur The Fed) dan koleganya di bank sentral.

Perang dagang AS-China, perlambatan ekonomi global, dan inflasi yang rendah menjadi faktor yang membuat The Fed memangkas tingkat suku bunga acuan sebesar 75 bps tersebut.

Jika tingkat suku bunga acuan kembali dipangkas, bank akan semakin terdorong untuk menurunkan tingkat suku bunga kredit sehingga memacu dunia usaha untuk melakukan ekspansi. Selain itu, masyarakat juga akan semakin terdorong untuk meningkatkan konsumsinya. Pada akhirnya, roda perekonomian akan berputar lebih kencang.

Absennya pemangkasan tingkat suku bunga acuan oleh The Fed lantas berpotensi untuk semakin menekan laju perekonomian AS.

Lebih lanjut, sentimen negatif bagi bursa saham Asia juga datang dari meluasnya infeksi virus Corona. Virus Corona sendiri merupakan virus yang menyerang sistem pernafasan manusia. Gejala dari paparan virus Corona meliputi batuk, sakit tenggorokan, sakit kepala, dan demam, seperti dilansir dari CNN International.

Berpusat di China, kasus infeksi virus Corona juga dilaporkan telah terjadi di negara-negara lain. Kini, setidaknya sebanyak 21 negara telah mengonfirmasi terjadinya infeksi virus Corona di wilayah mereka.

China, Korea Selatan, Taiwan, Thailand, AS, Vietnam, Prancis, Jerman, Nepal, dan Kanada termasuk ke dalam daftar negara yang sudah melaporkan infeksi virus Corona.

Melansir CNN International, hingga kemarin sebanyak 213 orang di China telah meninggal akibat infeksi virus Corona, dengan jumlah kasus mencapai lebih dari 8.100. Padahal hingga hari Minggu (26/1/2020), jumlah korban meninggal baru mencapai 56 orang.

Badan Kesehatan Dunia PBB, WHO, pada akhirnya mendeklarasikan kondisi darurat internasional terkait infeksi virus corona.

"Kekhawatiran terbesar kami adalah potensi penyebaran virus ke negara-negara dengan sistem kesehatan yang lemah," kata Kepala WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Kamis (30/1/2020), sebagaimana dikutip dari AFP.

Ia menegaskan peningkatan status ini menjadikan penyebaran virus Corona sebagai hal darurat yang perlu diperhatikan masyarakat internasional. Meski begitu, ini bukan berarti WHO tidak percaya kepada kemampuan China dalam menangani penyebaran virus tersebut.

Tetap saja, penyebarannya yang masif menjadi fokus badan dunia ini, apalagi jika masuk ke wilayah yang penanganan kesehatannya jauh di bawah China.

"Kita semua harus bertindak bersama sekarang untuk membatasi penyebaran lebih lanjut ... Kita hanya bisa menghentikannya bersama," tegasnya lagi.

Sebagai catatan, kondisi darurat internasional sudah lima kali dideklarasikan oleh WHO sejak aturannya berlaku pada tahun 2007 silam, yakni untuk flu babi, polio, Zika, Ebola, dan kini virus Corona.

Wabah Virus Corona Menyebar ke Asia Tenggara, Kemenkes Siaga - CNN Indonesia

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Badan Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) menetapkan status gawat darurat wabah virus Corona. Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) menyebut pemerintah harus meningkatkan kesiagaan terhadap penyebaran virus corona dengan adanya status tersebut.


"Artinya kalau itu sudah ditetapkan, semua negara harus bersiap siaga," kata Direktur Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Penyakit Menular Langsung Kemenkes, Wiendra Waworuntu, Jumat (31/1).


Ia menjelaskan, langkah siap siaga dilakukan dengan meningkatkan koordinasi dan kolaborasi, serta memastikan kesiapan sumber daya manusia dan rumah sakit-rumah sakit dalam menangani virus tersebut.


"Kemudian juga kesiapan dari semua sumber daya manusia dan rumah sakit terus intens, artinya lebih reaktif, artinya apa yang kurang, stoknya bagaimana. Itu yang sekarang itu harus kita nilai," kata dia.


Ia mengatakan, di Jakarta, ada tiga rumah sakit yang disiapkan untuk mengisolasi jika terjadi pasien yang suspect virus corona, ketiga rumah sakit tersebut yaitu RSPI Sulianti Saroso, RSUP Persahabatan dan RSPAD Gatot Subroto.

"Dunia akan melihat, bahwa kamu harus sharing data. Kita sudah dekat banget nih Malaysia, Singapura, kesiapsiagaan harus ditingkatkan, kita melihat penyebaran terus meningkat, angka kematian juga mulai tinggi, angka kasus juga," ucap dia.


Diberitakan sebelumnya, Badan Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) mendeklarasikan status gawat darurat wabah virus Corona dan menjadi perhatian dunia. Keputusan itu diambil dalam rapat yang digelar di Jenewa, Swiss.

Mulai pukul 23.00 WIB, Jumat (31/1/2020) malam ini, otoritas kesehatan dan bea cukai, resmi menutup akses masuk warga negara asing (WNA) dari China daratan.

Singapura menjadi negara pertama di Asia, yang mengumumkan penutupan semua pintu masuk bagi WNA China di Bandara, Pelabuhan, dan akses darat.

Inilah kali pertama Singapura menutup akses untuk WNA dari mitra dagang dan jasa terbesarnta dalam 100 tahun terakhir.

Keamanan, kesehatan dan nyawa warga negara Singapura, jadi prioritas, ketimbang imbal ekonomi kedua negara.

Saat pengumuman ini, kementerian Kesehatan Singapura juga memastikan bahwa belum ada warga mereka yang terpapar virus mematikan ini.

Hingga Jumat (31/1), otoritas Singapura mengklaim 13 kasus coronavirus. Kasus ini adalah warga negara China dari kota Wuhan dan Provinsi Hubei.

Pasar saham Asia melompat terangkat data manufaktur China yang sesuai harapan - Kontan

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. Bursa saham Asia diperdagangkan menghijau pada Jumat (31/1) pagi. Pelaku pasar mencerna data manufaktur China yang memenuhi harapan di tengah kekhawatiran wabah virus corona.

Asal tahu, Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) resmi mengumumkan darurat global penyebaran virus corona yang telah menewaskan sedikitnya 200 di China.

Melansir CNBC, indeks Nikkei 225 Jepang melonjak 1,82% karena saham kelas berat indeks dan pembuat robot Fanuc melonjak lebih dari 2%. Indeks Topix juga menambahkan 1,36%. Kospi Korea Selatan naik 0,79%.

Saham di Australia juga naik, dengan S & P / ASX 200 naik 0,54%. Secara keseluruhan, indeks MSCI Asia di luar Jepang diperdagangkan naik 0,46%.

Sebagai informasi, aktivitas manufaktur China tidak berubah dari bulan sebelumnya pada Januari, menurut data resmi China yang dirilis Jumat.

Biro Statistik Nasional China mengumumkan Indeks Manajer Pembelian (PMI) manufaktur pada angka 50. Angka ini sesuai dengan harapan para ekonom yang disurvei oleh Reuters. Level 50 untuk rdata PMI memisahkan ekspansi dari kontraksi.

Data ekonomi terbaru ini dirilis di tengah upaya Beijing untuk menahan penyebaran wabah virus yang telah memicu kegelisahan pasar global dalam beberapa hari terakhir.

Asian markets are recovering a little after coronavirus fears sunk stocks - CNN

Japan's Nikkei 225 (N225) jumped 1.1%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) rose 0.7%. South Korea's Kospi (KOSPI) moved up 0.3%.

The Hang Seng had lost more than 5% in the past two trading sessions. The Nikkei and Kospi each closed Thursday 1.7% lower.

The coronavirus, which originated in central China, has now spread around the world. More than 200 people are dead and more than 9,600 people have been infected in mainland China. There have also been dozens of confirmed cases elsewhere, including India, the Philippines and the United States.

The World Health Organization has declared coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern.

Separately, China's factory activity weakened ahead of the coronavirus outbreak, according to official data released Friday. The purchasing managers index for manufacturing reached 50 this month, lower than last month's 50.2 but in line with what analysts polled by Reuters expected.

Non-manufacturing PMI, a key indicator for the services sector, rose to 54.1, which was above December's 53.5.

A reading above 50 indicates growth from the previous month.

"The PMIs are usually valued as being among the first pieces of data released for an economy each month. But China's January PMI surveys have been overtaken by subsequent events," wrote Martin Lynge Rasmussen, China economist for Capital Economics, in a research note. "The following months' PMIs will give insight into how damaging the virus is."

He noted that the PMI surveys ended January 20, the same day Chinese President Xi Jinping publicly stated that the outbreak was serious.

Elsewhere, South Korean electronics maker LG reported sales of 62.3 trillion won ($52.5 billion) in 2019, a rise of 1% compared to 2018. Operating income fell about 1% to 2.4 trillion won ($2 billion).

Earnings were dragged down by the poor performance of LG's smartphone division. Sales of LG phones for 2019 plummeted 21% to 1.3 trillion won ($1.1 billion).

Shares in LG dropped 0.7% in Seoul.

Asian markets rebound on positive economic data - MarketWatch

Asian markets gained in early trading Friday, as reassuring economic data from China temporarily overshadowed the spreading coronavirus outbreak.

China’s official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index fell to 50.0 in January from 50.2 in December, snapping a two-month expansion streak but meeting economists’ expectations. Meanwhile, China’s official nonmanufacturing purchasing managers index rose to 54.1 in January from 53.5 in December, indicating expansion. Neither report, however, fully took into account the viral outbreak that picked up at the end of the month.

Japan and South Korea also posted encouraging economic data.

On Wednesday night, the U.S. State Department advised against all travel to China, after the World Health Organization declared the outbreak to be a global health emergency. China updated its count Thursday to 9,692 confirmed cases of coronavirus with at least 213 dead.

Despite the worrying virus news, investors gained a bit of confidence after Thursday’s selloff in Asian markets.

Japan’s Nikkei NIK, +0.99%   rose 1.3% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index HSI, -0.32%   gained 0.4%. South Korea’s Kospi 180721, -1.35%   advanced 0.2%, and Taiwan’s Taiex Y9999, +0.64%   rose after steep losses Thursday. Benchmark indexes in Singapore STI, -0.70%  , Malaysia FBMKLCI, -0.09%   and Indonesia JAKIDX, -1.50%   fell. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 XJO, +0.13%   gained 0.4%. Markets in mainland China remained closed for the extended Lunar New Year holiday.

“The data reinforces that Asia was well on its way to recovering from the ‘annus horribilis’ that was 2019,” wrote Jeffrey Halley, senior Asia Pacific market analyst for Oanda, in a note. “One small note of comfort is that Asian currencies had rallied strongly ahead of the outbreak and that economic activity was clearly recovering. That leaves the region better placed to mitigate the Wuhan virus effects on growth than had it occurred at the bottom of the economic cycle.”

U.S. stocks rebounded aggressively in the final hour of trade to close higher Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.43%   gained 124.99 points, or 0.4%, to 28,859.44, the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.31%   gained 10.26 points, or 0.3%, to 3,283.66 and The Nasdaq COMP, +0.26%  advanced 23.77 points, or 0.3%, to 9,298.93

Benchmark crude oil CLH20, +1.75%   rose to $53.21 a barrel. Brent crude oil BRNH20, +1.42%   , the international standard, gained to $5.19.

The dollar USDJPY, +0.10%   slipped to 109.03 Japanese yen from 108.92 yen on Wednesday.

UN chief underscores value of cooperation with Southeast Asian countries - UN News

While recognizing the organization’s contributions to peace and security, the UN chief also highlighted the need to work together to counter potential threats, including the climate crisis. 

“Given that four ASEAN Member States rank among the 10 countries in the world most affected by climate change, we look forward to strengthening our ties with ASEAN nations as they take urgent action to strengthen adaptation and build resilience to disasters,” he said. 

Preventive diplomacy efforts 

ASEAN was established in 1967 and represents nearly 650 million people, more than half of whom are under the age of 30. 

Since inception, it has been engaged in preventing disputes within the region, according to Secretary-General, Dato Lim Jock Hoi.   

“Cooperation with the UN in further enhancing our capacity to undertake preventive diplomacy measures, such as, for example, through the workshops organized by the UN in conjunction with the ASEAN Regional Forum, which has preventive diplomacy as one of its set key milestones, are beneficial”, he said. 

The UN chief pointed to recent ASEAN diplomatic efforts on the situation in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, where a reported military crackdown in August 2017 pushed more than 700,000 members of the minority Rohingya community into neighbouring Bangladesh. 

“It is essential that international efforts find a solution to the plight of displaced persons and refugees still living in desperate conditions,” he said. 

Although Mr. Guterres told ambassadors that the situation on the Korean Peninsula “remains of deep concern”, again, ASEAN has contributed to promoting peace there. 

He recalled that Singapore and Hanoi hosted historic meetings between North and South Korea. 

With Member States Indonesia and Viet Nam sitting on the Security Council, “we hope that stronger links can be built between ASEAN and the UN to advance diplomatic efforts on the Korean Peninsula”, he added. 

Strengthening cooperation for peace 

Looking ahead, he said the two partners can strengthen cooperation on peacekeeping, including in training and increasing women’s participation in peace processes. 

He added that the UN will further boost technical support to ASEAN in counter-terrorism initiatives and preventing violent extremism, among other areas. 

“I am deeply convinced of the value of ASEAN-UN cooperation for peace, security and sustainable development”, said Mr. Guterres.  

“With the presence of two engaged and dynamic ASEAN members on the Council in 2020, I look forward to our two organizations working increasingly closely together for the future we want and need.”

The coronavirus is causing an outbreak — in anti-Asian racism and fear mongering - The Hill

As the Wuhan coronavirus continues to spread, at this point with 170 deaths confirmed by Chinese officials, so does fear. The virus, currently being called 2019-nCoV, has already spread to 19 other countries, with five confirmed cases in the US: two in California, one in Arizona, one in Washington State and one in Illinois. All the patients recently visited Wuhan. 

Fear mongering, or the intentional spread of frightening and exaggerated rumors in order to  arouse public fear about an issue, has always been an unfortunate side effect of such deadly viruses, such as with the Ebola crisis in 2014 or the spread of Swine Flu in 2009. As public fear continues to be stoked and radicalized, so can racism and harmful bias against those whose origins align with the starting point of said virus. 

Not just in the United States but across the world, people are reporting cases of blatant racism, despite the fact that many of those who are now being targeted have never even stepped foot in China. Some are not even of Chinese descent, but from different Asian origins.

On college campuses

One of the five confirmed U.S. cases of the coronavirus was found at Arizona State University (ASU). ASU officials have notified students, parents and faculty via email that the person who contracted the virus does not live on campus and is being isolated to keep the virus from spreading. Despite that fact, Business Insider has reported anti-Chinese sentiment growing on campus.

"It's hysteria," said one freshman to Business Insider. "I cough in class and everybody looks at me," she said. "I'm paranoid of coughing." 

The freshman also mentioned a social and cultural divide that already exists between the large population of international students from China at ASU and the rest of the student body, stating that the virus "just made it more obvious."

On social media

As news of the virus first spread online one video surfaced above the rest, showing a young Chinese influencer, who many thought to be in Wuhan, biting into a bat that she held up with chopsticks. Media outlets like Daily Mail promoted the video, calling it “revolting” and connecting the consumption of bats to the source of the coronavirus. Thousands took to Twitter to blame what they considered to be “dirty” Chinese eating habits and the consumption of exotic animals for the outbreak, which is said to have begun at a market in Wuhan. 

The problem is that the video, which was shot more than three years ago in 2016, wasn’t even shot in China, but in Palau, where bats are considered a delicacy. Besides that, the market may not even be the source of the virus at all. 

“Rumors can travel more quickly and more widely than they could in an era before social media,” said Thomas Rid to Bloomberg. Rid is a professor of strategic studies at Johns Hopkins University who has a forthcoming book on the history of disinformation. “That of course lends itself to conspiracies spreading more quickly. They spread more widely and they are more persistent in the sense that you can’t undo them.”

This fear mongering and its subsequent conspiracy theories can lead to dangerous consequences, not only linked to racism-sparked violence. Tweets and Facebook posts from U.S. conspiracy theory accounts said drinking bleach could protect against the virus. On YouTube, a series of videos accusing media organizations of suppressing information had hundreds of thousands of views, the most watched video labeled: “The sudden lack of new information coming out of China has Chris spooked.”

Social media sites like Twitter are now trying to stave off false information related to the virus by directing users to reliable sources, prompting users who search for “coronavirus” to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. Though a spokesperson from the company has reportedly not seen an uptick in disinformation since coronavirus became a worldwide problem, angered netizens in places like Indonesia have launched racist hashtags that have already gone viral, such as #TolakSementaraTurisChina (#TemporarilyBanChineseTourists). In Japan, the hashtag #ChineseDon’tComeToJapan has also trended on Twitter.

Some government officials have even had to warn their citizens about false information spreading around the internet, purporting itself to be coming from the government such as in Australia.

In Singapore, tens of thousands of residents have signed a petition calling for the government to ban Chinese nationals from entering the country and in places like Hong Kong, South Korea and Vietnam, businesses have posted signs saying that mainland Chinese customers are not welcome.

Affecting businesses 

Chinese-owned businesses have taken a hit across North America, with cases of Asian discrimination being reported everywhere from Toronto to San Diego. 

Feelings of coronavirus-related fear are particularly poignant in Canada, where another China-originated virus called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) killed 44 people in the Toronto area in 2002-2003. So far, more than 9,000 Toronto citizens have signed a petition urging one of the area’s school boards to keep children whose family members recently returned from China out of classrooms. 

Businesses in Toronto’s Chinatown have been recording a slowdown, and Health Minister Patty Hajdu on Tuesday said there was a risk Chinese Canadians could feel “somewhat targeted” because of the origin of the virus. Hajdu also said that it could hurt Chinese Canadians’ businesses if people shun them out of fear.
