Afghan Local Police, Controversial Force that Fills a Security Gap

While the Afghan military, with the help of NATO forces, is carrying out an operation to clear Eastern Afghanistan of the militant Islamic State group, the day to day security of the area is now in the hands of a controversial local police force funded by the United States. VOA’s Ayesha Tanzeem spent time with the Afghan Local Police in the Achin district of Eastern Afghanistan, where this force is primarily fighting the Islamic State militants.
